EEZ PROTECTION

An exclusive economic zone (EEZ) is a sea zone prescribed by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea over which a state has special rights over the exploration and use of marine resources, including energy production from water and wind.It stretches from the baseline out to 200 nautical miles from its coast. In colloquial usage, the term may include the territorial sea and even the continental shelf beyond the 200-mile limit.

These rights belong to the nation and to the people. They help to feed them and they help to bring hard currency and investment into the country. Without protection, they could be exploited, as in illegal fishing, oil pollution and piracy.

Over-Watch can help protect these areas and the resources that they hold for those nations, that until now did not have the means to protect them themselves.

With the use of Over-Watch vessels and aircraft we can help to train a nations Coast Guard and Navy to protect its own EEZ. With a stable EEZ comes economic growth and stability.

With the stability and growth comes the finances for the country to build its own Coast Guard and Navy, with its own people guarding the resources of their nation.

Pre-O.S.T.

Operational Sea Training– carried out by Ships’ staff (usually ex F.O.S.T.) that run training programs on the same lines as at OST, to prepare them for B.O.S.T.

B.O.S.T.

(Basic Operational Sea Training, also known as O.S.T.) – At Sea and alongside dependent upon serial being exercised). Carried out by F.O.S.T staff with predetermined serials, tried and tested audit of ALL ships departments and crew to ensure they are operationally excellent prior to deployment.

Post Deployment Training

(C.O.S.T. – Continuation Operational Sea Training) COST is usually requested by a ship’s CO but is a fantastic way to ensure the ship is at a high state of readiness just prior to entering theater of operations.

All the above training covers all departments (WE, ME, OPS, SEA, LOGS, MEDIC, NAV and AIR). Exercises include Emergency Stations, Action Stations, Catering, Logs/Action Logs, resupply, Discharge Dead exercise, repatriation exercise, Disaster control, Shore disaster exercise, humanitarian aid. Serials are predetermined and are unknown to the CO (unless they could present an H&S issue or danger to shipping, etc.)

The vessel will have facilities for computer orientated training as well as lecturing and hands on training.

Crewed by ex-members of the Royal Navy and Royal Marine Commandos, who will also teach and mentor clients’ staff.

Medical Training.

A full team of Ex-Naval Medics will be on-board to train clients’ staff in basic First Aid to advanced medical practices.

OVER-WATCH TRAINING PERSONNEL.

The Training team are all ex Royal Naval and Royal Marine Commando Personnel who have had full and successful careers and have served on the staff of the Flag Officer Sea Training (F.O.S.T.) working directly to the Admiral. All staff working for F.O.S.T. are specially selected to perform the duties as they have reached an exceptional level in professional expertise, management and leadership in their chosen field.

The majority of Logistic trainers have also been Chief Instructors at the Royal Naval Defense Logistics School teaching the future Senior Logistics Officers in the Royal Navy as well as New Entry trainees and Senior Ratings.

Maritime Search and Rescue | Over-watch

Maritime Search and Rescue

Over-watch Group can field medium to large vessels suitable for maritime Search and Rescue (SAR) operations. These vessels may be equipped with RHIB's (reinforced hull inflatable boats) and air platforms, such as helicopters or UAVs.

Vessels

We can supply

  • 1257 tonne ex Coast Guard boats (with helicopter landing and refueling capabilities)
  • Landing craft
  • 1257 tonne Command and Control vessels, capable of carrying 300 refugees securely

We can staff vessels with ex Royal Navy and ex Royal Marines personnel, discretely armed to ensure the safety and security of SAR, medical and other official staff. Staff will be trained to manage medical and other emergencies, and be equipped with proper PPE and communications equipment. Operations and facilities can be inspected and overseen at any time by the appropriate authorities. Vessels can be controlled by appropriate legal authorities according to prevailing needs.

Fit

We can adapt suitable platforms for command and control, logistic support, transport, intelligence gathering, surveillance, secure communications, medical support, Search and Rescue (SAR) and counter-piracy.

Bio-metrics

This is a special fit option. Bio-metric data can be gathered on board and transmitted to appropriate border or intelligence agencies securely.

Vessel Convoy Protection

Convoy protection has been around for many years. As long as Pirates have been in business. Ships would band together to offer each other protection.

Now Over-Watch Group is planning to use vessels to provide escort protection in a convoy system.

Capable, versatile, deep water, ocean-going ships with excellent sea-going qualities and considerable range and endurance.

Vessels manned by Ex-Royal Navy, EU Navy and US Naval officers and crew. With security teams of Ex-Royal Marines and Ex-US Marines. All highly trained to counter any problems that may arise.

On some vessels we will have a helicopter or UAV's on board for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, deterrence and early warning along our intended routes.

Over-Watch Group has plans for routes in East and West Africa, working with local Authorities, International governments and International bodies.

These routes are intended to help protect the crews of all nations, keep the sea routes open and cut cost to the shipping industry, by shortening the routes used to get to their final destinations. But can only operate if the number of shipping companies using the service, warrant the opening of the routes.
